In fact this is also the recommended format for Canada. But some people/projects still haven't updated the Canadian locale en-CA.

Thanks for the info. Well, I hope you guys can sort it out. At least there is some sort of discussion. I got banned from a project because of the following comment (not linking to it on purpose) and I have no idea why and there is no recourse:

This change allows users to select from a variety of global date formats to use within the WebUI. The date formatting logic contains comprehensive tests.
This feature is built off of the ClientData API (#23088) because local storage doesn't feel like the right place for this. Only the last two commits are relevant.
Closes #10122.
