Meshtastic AIL Feeder (Autonomous)

Small script to acquire meshtastic MQTT relayed messages.

Files

• meshtastic-ail.py: main runner.
• meshtastic_lib.py: MQTT/decoding helpers (default PSK only).
• config.yaml: local MQTT config.
• meshtastic_ail.sqlite: SQLite DB of seen UIDs.

Requirements

• Python 3.11+
• Dependencies: paho-mqtt, protobuf, cryptography, PyYAML.

Quick install

cd ail-feeder-meshtastic/src
python3 -m venv .venv
. .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt  # or: pip install paho-mqtt protobuf cryptography pyyaml

Configuration

Edit config.yaml (source config.yaml.sample):

Run

Notes

• Decryption: only Meshtastic default PSKs for known channels;
• Cache: events are coalesced for couple of time per UID to merge text/telemetry/relays.
• DB: table uids stores first/last seen and position when provided for UIDS.
