Avoidance Ontology	Anti-patterns mapped to consequences. Defines what the methodology refuses to do and why.

Term	Definition
Bookend Pattern	Agent orchestration: verification agents wrap action agents. VERIFY → ACTION → VERIFY.
Bounded Complexity	Files ≤ 150 lines, folders ≤ 6 files. Human comprehension is a design parameter.

Term	Definition
CLAUDE.md	Workspace policy file. Binds the AI to discovery-first workflows and architectural constraints.
claude-setup	Bootstrapping template. Copy into your project to initialize Claude Code governance.
Concern Ownership	Each concept defined in exactly one document. All others delegate via symlink.
Convergence	Repeated scan-remediate passes produce zero new violations. The system is clean.

Term	Definition
DAG	Directed Acyclic Graph. PAG keyword for task orchestration with dependency ordering.
Delegation Symlink	Reference that redirects reader to the owning document. Does not restate content.
Documentation Constitution	Structural specification: how documents relate, import, cross-reference.
Dual Consumer	Every sentence read by a human and an AI simultaneously. Both must extract same meaning.

Fail Fast	Detect errors immediately. Halt on resource inconsistency. Mark and continue on computation uncertainty.

Term	Definition
Homoiconicity	Code, data, and state share the same representation. The system describes itself.

Term	Definition
Import Architecture	Documents form a DAG. Imports declared in opening paragraph and footer. No circular dependencies.
Inherited Skepticism	Generated agents inherit trust anchor, verified/refuted claims, tool calibration from creator.

Term	Definition
Marr Correspondence	Computational theory, algorithm, and implementation must correspond.
Memory Grammar (MG)	Annotation DSL for structured memory files. Validated by the MG compiler. See MG Grammar.
MG Compiler	Node.js tool that validates memory frontmatter against registries and type profiles.
META	Self-referential surface. X-Y at rest, W in motion, Z as evaluative schema. The system models itself.

Nogood Combination	Set of assumptions that led to contradiction. Recorded to avoid repeating the mistake.

P

Term	Definition
PAG	Pattern Abstract Grammar. Structured instruction language for AI collaboration. See PAG Keywords.
Phase 0	Infrastructure before features. Validation hooks, CI/CD, config, testing.

S

Term	Definition
Saturation Loop	Outer convergence cycle: scan → remediate → re-scan → until zero violations.
Single Assignment	Variables assigned once. Computed data frozen after creation.
Suggestive Voice	Methodology suggests and reasons. "Tends to work best when..." not "Is integrated into..."
Symlink	Typed reference between documents: import, delegation, routing, inline, table, list, reference.

Term	Definition
Tension Resolution	When two rules conflict, a documented resolution determines which applies.
Tool Calibration	Verify grep/glob/edit accuracy with known-good and known-bad cases before trusting results.
Trust Anchor	Minimal assumptions an agent makes. The boundary beyond which it cannot verify.

Term	Definition
Validation Gate	Blocking checkpoint at phase boundary. 3-5 specific, verifiable conditions.
Verification Rate	verified / (verified + refuted). Below 0.8 triggers abort.

XYZW	Four-axis extraction: X components, Y relations, Z evaluation type, W propagation effects.
