This page described how to use an external IMU, for example the GY-USB002 with HC.

Plug the sensor in your preferred USB port.
Start the HC application, go the the Settings page from the menu on the left.
At the Sensor options section, sensor selection option, select External sensor, the application will prompt you to restart the service. If the selection is not possible (greyed out), this means the sensor has not been detected properly.
Restart the service by pressing Stop -> Start on the bottom left within the GUI.
If needed select the correct mounting direction and or flip the sensor upside down. The sensor can be mounted in the following places, screen facing the user, top, bottom, left and right of the device.

From that point onward you can make use of the HC application as you like.
