Steps to Reproduce

1. Enable git-bridge with GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=true
2. Use of "Go to code location in PDF" and "Go to PDF location in code" even on small/medium sized projects is very slow
3. Disable git-bridge with GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=false
4. Use of "Go to code location in PDF" and "Go to PDF location in code" even on small/medium sized projects is near instant

Expected Behaviour

near instant results even with GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=true

Observed Behaviour

Use of "Go to code location in PDF" and "Go to PDF location in code" even on small/medium sized projects is very slow.

Analysis

Could this be related to SyncTeX ? But why just by disabling Git Integration the problem disappears ?
The VM (under Proxmox) running this instance has 16GB RAM and 8 cores (Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6442Y)

I can't reproduce this. I have the git bridge enabled and going from PDF to LaTeX and back is nearly instant, even for large projects (and I'm running in less capable hardware than you). Anything unusual in the logs? If you are using the toolkit, you can watch the logs with bin/logs -f.

First, I would like to apologize for this issue that contains all the best bad practices of issue reporting. Here are the details I should have added at the beginning:

When GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=true , the compilation is way slower, as the "jump to pdf" and "jump to code" .
When GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=false, it is near instant (compilation and "jump to" functions)

Sorry for the long silence, I was busy with other things.

This is a very strange bug. I don't have a clue what could be causing it, and I can't reproduce it.
The logs above aren't informative because debug logging was turned off. Please add the following to variables.env:

LOG_LEVEL="debug"

Then upload the relevant parts of the web and clsi logs:

bin/logs -f web clsi

It would be helpful to have logs for both cases: with GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=true and false. Before compiling in both cases, click “Clear cached files” and choose “Recompile from scratch.”

These requirements may seem random, but at this point it's unclear where to look.

Upd: compiling is also slow with GIT_BRIDGE_ENABLED=true, or no difference?
