Route appears to float in indoor

I was testing Routing Service example. While testing i noticed that route floats when i try to rotate map. It appears fine when viewed from Top but it 3d view. It appears to float. Is there any way to disable this floating behaviour ?

Thanks for your enquiry. The example you mentioned is showing a route that starts at ground level, where you enter the building from outside, and ends 2 floors higher in an office. It involves riding the elevator from the ground floor and going the rest of the way on foot. You can switch between the different building floors by pressing the "Move Up!" and "Move Down!" buttons shown in the lower left corner of the screen.

If you want to show a route through a single floor, you can change the values in RoutingServiceExample::GetRoute(). For example, changing startLevel to match the value of endLevel (2) will get a route along the corridor on the 2nd floor, leaving out the section on the ground floor and the part of the journey spent in the elevator.

Hi John,

We have tried to use routing service as you told above. But float issue is still there. I have attached two screenshots (different views but of same route). You can see if we tilt or pan the map, route goes off of main line where it supposed to be.

Thanks for the reply. It looks from the screenshots you posted like you might be using a slightly older version of the SDK samples. A bug was fixed recently which should reduce the thickness of the route and improve the appearance.

If the concern is that routes can be seen through walls (they are drawn with depth-testing disabled) this was a deliberate choice to make them easier to see, but the following code snippet shows how you could modify the example to toggle the depth-testing. This will cause the routes to be obscured if any other geometry is placed in front of them.

Note that you'll need to add #include statements for "RoutesModule.h" and "RouteViewRenderer.h" at the top of the file.

The position of the route itself is derived from the latitude and longitude of the path that was built into the indoor map (see https://github.com/eegeo/eegeo-indoor-maps-api/blob/master/PATHTUTORIAL.md). The altitude is calculated from the level index of the floor for which the path was defined. At the moment we don't expose configuration parameters for offsets etc. via the SDK, but please let us know if something like that would be useful.
