Use of alpha device in season and other uses

With the beta and beyond Systemcore having changes compared to the alpha device will it beable to be used when Systemcore is actually in use and Rio is gone? Another question I have is will it beable to be used as a standalone coprocessor for vision with either photon or a separate limelight os for just vision?

For competition? No, because it’s not actually COTS (nobody can buy the alpha units, only the production ones). It may work for home use, but I don’t think anyone will guarantee that the released production software/images will work on an alpha device due to hardware changes etc. Can you use it at home as a vision device (using just the CM5 bits)? Definitely.
