support image?

I got a markdown txt with image tag like " ![xxx] (/root/images/1.png) " , I want to transform it to pdf, is any demo to show?

Add a third section. The title is centered using CSS, included in the table of contents of the pdf file, and an image from the file img/python.png is embedded on the page.

I'm trying to use this and doesn't seem to work, where the image should be placed I only get "[image]"

tested with pymupdf==1.25.3 and markdown-it-py==3.0.0 to make sure is not a bug introduced with the recent version bumps

I managed to make it work by inlining the image as base64 in a html tag.

If we are talking about the file markdown_pdf.pdf created from the file README.md, then on the first page the pictures are not displayed.

Pictures in markdown in the form of hrefs to external resources are not currently supported.

Pictures from local files are displayed correctly, see page 3 of the file markdown_pdf.pdf
