"Modernize" the suggestions dialog

The suggestions dialog looks dated (my opinion) with big, blocky, colorful buttons. Could it be made more sleek and modern?

I'm not familiar enough with ST under the hood to know what's possible. But I think Zed's interface provides a more modern UI inspiration. For example, this is their auto-complete interface:

Tab to accept, escape to reject. Simple, elegant.

So they don't do "block" completion but only one line at a time?

No. In this example, the suggestion was simple. But they can be much longer. Same simple interface.

Well, so then the issue is those 3 buttons? should be only ?

In my opinion, those buttons are big and clunky in today's interface world. The window chrome is also clunky. Something more understated and streamlined would seem better.

We probably can add a setting to hide those 3 buttons (actually the whole "header" in HTML).

Unfortunately, there is no "ghost text" feature in ST. That was definitely what we tried to mimic when copilot came out.

Yes. So maybe just enough border for separation from the background.

I understand that "phantom" doesn't work well, and that's OK. A simple dialog box would be fine. For now, I'll see about changing options to not automatically show the completion dialog and just call for it when needed.
