DungeonGenerator v2.0 – Feedback Request

Hi everyone,

I’m currently planning DungeonGenerator v2.0, and I’d really appreciate your feedback before making a final decision.

Goals for v2.0

The main focus of v2.0 is:

1. More interesting level design
2. Richer visual expression (e.g. interior placement with a sense of life)
3. Better tunability and control

Breaking Changes

To achieve these goals, v2.0 introduces many new parameters and structural changes.

• I will try to migrate v1 parameters to v2 where possible
• However, full compatibility cannot be guaranteed

Platform Constraint

On Fab Marketplace, users cannot choose which version to install.

This makes the release strategy more difficult.

Two Possible Approaches

Option A — Update existing product (free upgrade)

• Release v2.0 as a normal update
• Existing users get it for free
• ⚠️ Risk: may break existing projects

Option B — Release as a new product

• Keep v1 stable
• Release v2.0 separately
• ⚠️ Risk: existing users may feel unhappy about re-purchasing

🤔 What I’m struggling with

I want to choose the option that is best for users in the long term, but I’m honestly unsure which approach is better.

I'm thinking about whether the game would be more interesting if we could specify dungeon exploration using curves, like this. However, changing it this much would make maintaining compatibility difficult.
