0.5 M EDTA Solution, pH 8.0

Reagents

  • EDTA disodium salt (CAS 6381-92-6)
    • 372.24 g/mol
  • 10 M NaOH solution (CAS 1310-73-2)

Procedure

Per 100 mL

  1. Add 14.6 g of EDTA disodium salt to 80 mL pure nuclease free water
  2. Adjust pH to 8.0 with 10 M NaOH solution
  3. Bring volume to 100 mL with pure nuclease free water
  4. Stir vigorously on a magnetic stirrer

Note: EDTA will not dissolve until pH has been adjusted
