@tilgovi wondered if you could shed light on relation of this repo and https://github.com/hypothesis/client -- was the client originally derived from here or completely separate? should we merge improvements from hypothesis client back here?

I think the Hypothes.is client started from Annotator, then vendored a fork. Then, we started the Annotator rewrite to try to get a better foundation upstream. At this point, I think they are entirely distinct and share little to nothing.
