GitHub view

One of the views that should be on the dashboard is a summary of the GitHub activity across the community. Some things that I would like to see:

1. git commit hash ticker (see Sources and rough ideas #1)
2. leaderboards showing the most active users, repositories, languages, etc. over the past day, week, month, etc.
3. plain text summaries of recent activity (still not quite sure what this would look like...)

Any other suggestions, ideas, or comments?
