Lists / grids jumps by a multiple rows on a single arrow click

On each cursor up/down key grid (or list if enabled) may randomly jump by additional few rows.

• affects both app lists as well as list of settings
• reproducible using original Sony remote as well as two 3rd party remotes and physical keyboard
• not observed when jumping between controls on sidebard or app info
• not observed when system animations are disabled
  (possible quick solution to add settings to disable problematic animations on certain devices?)
  problem still reproducible when system animations are disabled although with noticeable less frequency

Device: Bravia TV X90J
Android TV: 12

Note that despite me using only down arrow on the attached video the grid jumps to second rows for no reason at all

Thanks for the detailed video, I actually couldn't replicate it both in the emulator and on my TV, so had tried fixing it just going by assumptions, could you check and tell if the next release fixes it?

With help of one redditor comment I have found the culprit causing the issue - an accessibility service.

In my case I had total 4 enabled. And of 4 it was AutoInput 3.0.2, a Tasker plugin, that introduced the most significant input lag.

Disabling it was enough to completely remove all the grid issues observed. In the hindsight the input issues were also sporadically and randomly observed affecting other apps but in Flicky is the very obviously affected.

To anyone else who finds this bug:
Keep in mind that by design every running accessibility service will add some degree of lag to your device. So aside from total number of running, some can be more problematic. Go one by one to find the culprit or until the problem is gone.

And if in your case it's also the same AutoInput plugin - then know that there is an unpublished beta build on Tasker subreddit. It kind of fixed the problem for my device, however many other users still report performance/lag issues.

Just for the record... has 3.4.6 made any progress?

Partially. It made noticeable improvement in the browse apps screen.
Grids/lists were "jumping rows" considerably less often, still could be reproduced when tapped "fast enough"
(~faster then grid was halfway trough it's scroll animation).
Categories / Updates and Settings sections feels unaffected by the fix however.

And as stated above the fix is longer needed once the culprit was found and disabled.

Oh that's good to hear then, can just leave the issue open for few days if anyone has a similar problem (though not likely)

Denounced inputs might have caused the improvement you've seen, and was only applied in browse screen so, it figures..
