vertical split doesn't work correctly when in stack layout

Describe the bug
When in stack layout (that is, the kitty window is full), spawning new kitty windows on left or right doesn't work correctly and the kitty window is spawned at the bottom.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. add these to your kitty config

map ctrl+a>z toggle_layout stack

2. press ctrl+a>z then ctrl+a>\. The kitty window spawns at bottom instead of spawning at right.

stack layout does not support splits. It displays only a single layout
at a time, so I have no idea what you mean.

This might be the same as #8698. If so, as stack layout does not have the context for splits, it cannot respect the action "make a new window by splitting in a direction" while in that layout.

Okay I get that it is the current behaviour. But wouldn't it be better if the stack layout did have information about splits and it did create new splits in the right places?

How on earth would it do that given it knows nothing about splits? layouts are separate things. Some of them support splits some dont.

But stack layout does support splits. It's just that it doesn't respect the split direction.Yeah I get that it shouldn't have any idea about other windows. I think a better ux would be to just switch to the previous layout when creating splits. When I first tried to split while being in the stack layout I did expect that it will switch back to whatever was the previous layout which supports splits well. It maybe subjective though.

It does not support splits. A split is when the available screen real
estate is split between all windows. And no, switching layouts when
creating new windows is absolutely not intuitive, it's the opposite.

I think you are confused about what you are doing. launch doesnt create a
split. It creates a new window. Where that window ends up being placed
is dependent on the current layout and the arguments passed to launch.

Can we have one keymap do two actions one followed by the other? I really would like to toggle to splists layout and then launch the window so it knwos where to create the split.
