Layers exported as [Untitled]

What went wrong?
When exporting multiple layers, occasionally the image name will be untitled

What should be the expected behavior?
The export layers dialog shows the desired names for the exported images, however when actually exporting, that name is not carried through and the image name is replaced with untitled.

If you can, specify the steps to reproduce the problem.

I installed GIMP 3 and Batcher on 2 different computers, and while they worked at first, the issue appeared after working on the file for a while.

Version of Batcher: 1.1.1
Version of GIMP: 3.06
Operating system: Win 11
Installer: installer from gimp.org

my exported images should be renamed with [image name]_[layer name]. The image is saved as bb_005.xcf, and in the export layers dialogue, I see the input layers listed as "bb_005_p4.png", etc, as expected, and at the bottom under preview, I see the same details. The dialogue window seems to know the image name, but the export doesn't.

Hi, thanks for the detailed report 🙂 Did you use Export As... and then Export Layers on the same image? If so, then I was able to replicate this bug on my end. I'll fix this for the next release.

In the meantime, you can avoid this bug by not using Export As..., or by closing and re-opening the image if you need to use that feature.

Yes, I did do an "export as" before. That would explain why it would sometimes work as expected and not replicate the error.
