Changes
Enables the "experimental" layout by default
Reconsidering my thoughts in #7294 (comment), we should not have any changes that are significant enough to warrant keeping a separate layout option. Future changes can be enabled by more granular feature flags/settings.
In the interest of keeping this PR small, I plan to rename the layouts in a future PR:
