Description
Describe the enhancement
It would be great if FlowKeeper could display visual time blocks representing each completed Pomodoro session on the timeline or dashboard. Instead of just numbers or logs, users would see colored blocks that show how focus time was spent across the day.
Why this matters
This is especially helpful for users with ADHD and similar workflows:
- A visual representation of time spent motivates users by showing concrete progress — not just abstract minutes.
- Seeing a pattern of blocks helps with predicting productivity and reinforces positive habits.
- Time blocking helps users plan next steps and visually balance focus and breaks.
- It makes it easier to reflect on where time actually went.
What the feature could look like
-
After each completed Pomodoro session, a block could appear on a daily timeline (e.g., a horizontal bar with segments).
-
Blocks could be color coded by status:
- Completed focus sessions
- Extended sessions (if user worked past the timer)
- Breaks
-
Hovering / tapping a block shows details: start time, duration, task name.
How it helps users
Many people (especially those with ADHD) don’t just need a timer — they need reinforcement and clarity on what they’ve done. Visual time blocks are more intuitive than a list of timestamps, and they make accomplishments feel real instead of just data. This can reduce frustration and increase motivation to keep going.
Proposal / suggestion
- Add a timeline view with horizontal blocks for each Pomodoro session.
- Provide filtering (day / week / task).
- Persist across sessions so users can track patterns over time.
Additional context
This complements Pomodoro timing and makes the app not just a timer, but a productivity dashboard that supports real human workflows.
Happy to discuss UI mockups or mock data formats if that helps. Thanks for considering!
