The sum width of all columns is limited to the original window width even when the window was widened. All columns continue sharing the original width.

That's true; and I don't quite know how to fix that. The tree control used to work just fine until the TB people removed the remainders of XUL. And I'm using what is supposed to be the replacement, except there are some behavior differences, and all sorts of magical incantations you need to say in order for it to work. I still haven't figured out all of them, and I'm not even sure there is one for auto-widening columns when the the entire tree widens.

Thanks for acknowledging the problem and your great plugin! Unfortunately I'm not that good in programming of such that I can help. But I can have a look in other plugin's whether one uses also 'table' window functionality and is accessible open source.

I too second that you have a great plugin! Unlike @AddisZone I do have some coding (mainly in Python) experience, and limited experience with the TB API, but willing to try helping you resolve this issue as it's one of my biggest issues using your addon also.

I will review your addon in due course and see if I can't adapt someone else's addon code that has similar scalable tree view widths from there addon and see if I can't get something to work.

I might write to you directly if I run into some issue with your coding style.
I will try and do my best! (No promises to you or anyone else who has this issue.)

Trying the latest beta:

you'll notice that after widening the dialog, you can now change the widths of the tree-table columns - but you must begin with the starting edge of the corner control, the column selector. Moving that increases the columns overall length by enlarging the Lines column; then you can play with the width distribution among the columns.

@AddisZone : Does this resolve the bug for you? There is still the question of auto-expanding columns on dialog enlargement.

Anyway, I'm actually using Remove Duplicated Messages version 0.6.4 on Windows11 25H2 and Betterbird 140.5.0esr-bb14.
I still see the impossibility to enlarge the headers of the columns beyond to a certain width on the Remove Duplicated Message window . The header has a fixed maximum width while the frame containing it can enlarge.
Another problem, which is probably linked to the previous one, is that the right side of this window has a fixed width and cannot be enlarged, too.
So, any other language which is not English, and needs a little bit more space for the description of the 4 buttons one can click on for choosing the kind of duplicate to remove, takes up more space than the button itself as shown in the figure below.

I don't know if what I report below is relevant for removedupes extension, because I know nothing about how you can create TB/BB extensions.
Anyway, I use some TB/BB extensions where the problem of windowing was faced successfully, in two different ways:

1. By using the window of settings itself (with coverage of the entire TB/BB window), like in:

   https://addons.thunderbird.net/it/thunderbird/addon/bordercolors-d/
2. By using "autonomous" window of configuration, generated from the extension in itself, like in:
   https://addons.thunderbird.net/it/thunderbird/addon/quickfolders-tabbed-folders/
   https://addons.thunderbird.net/it/thunderbird/addon/quickfilters/

Sorry if these solutions cannot be applied to removedupes. As I said before, I am completely naive in this field.
