App Store UI breaks with index error and hangs badge UI when internet-side app store server is 404ing #249

Describe the bug
when the app store (internet-side) is broken enough to return 404, the badge-side app store app reports "index error" and then hangs the UI, needing a reboot.
firmware 1.10.0
To Reproduce
break the app store. use tildagon.
Expected behavior
better error handling, like "something went wrong. lame excuses!" followed by return to the loader menu.
Additional context
I encountered this a week or so ago. Someone on irc/matrix just reported it too.
