[react-native] First conversation after app boot has no audio and mic is unresponsive

I'm using @elevenlabs/react-native@0.5.7
When I first cold start the app and initiate a conversation it starts (I see the "welcome" text coming into the app) but there is no audio and when I speak, this isn't picked up by the mic.
If I stop the conversation and start it again everything works ok. Same for subsequent conversations. All times initiate the session in the same way.
I recently updated the package from 0.3.x but I've not changed anything else with my flow.

Has anyone else experienced this?

For all those with similar issues, I think I've solved this. I use RNSound elsewhere in the app and I just needed to add the following which solves this testing locally:

useFocusEffect(
    useCallback(() => {
      Sound.setCategory('PlayAndRecord');
      ...

      return () => {
        Sound.setCategory('Playback');
        ...

Are you testing this on a physical device or via the simulator?
