Improve the FAIR score of the WBMsed repository

One of the tasks in the current CSDMS award is titled "Next Generation FAIR and Sustainable Model Source Code Repositories". In this task, CSDMS software engineers work with model developers to increase the quality of code for csdms-contrib models—refactoring, writing unit tests, etc. More generally, we provide a framework (continuous integration tests, contributing guidelines, and standards) that supports and promotes high-quality code contributions.

WBMsed is a great candidate for this task.

Here is a list of modifications for the WBMsed repository that could improve its FAIR score:

• Standardize directory structure (Update directory structure #2)
• Check build (Update directory structure #2)
• Add a .gitignore (Update directory structure #2)
• Rename primary branch from master to main
• Convert build system to CMake (cross-platform) (Convert build system to CMake #3)
• Create a Dockerfile (Containerize WBMsed with Docker #4)
• Push a WBMsed image to Docker Hub (Containerize WBMsed with Docker #4)
• Add a Docker Compose file and explain how to run WBMsed from a container (Appify WBMsed with Docker Compose #6)
• Add unit tests; use CTest
• Set up continuous integration (CI) with GitHub Actions
• Add a detailed README file with build / install instructions (Add a project README file #5)
• Add DOI status badge to README (Add a project README file #5)
• Make a CITATION.cff file
• New tag and release on GitHub (v4.4.2)
• Push a v4.4.2 image to Docker Hub
• Link information from the repository to the WBMsed Model Repository page (see, e.g., SIBERIA)
• (Optional) Add CONTRIBUTING and CODE OF CONDUCT docs
• (Optional) Add CHANGES doc (Update directory structure #2)

WBMsed is built on GHAAS, which includes a GIS component that's built on several X Windows libraries, at least one of which, Xm, isn't in conda-forge. So I'm not using conda. Instead, I'll use Docker. I also don't have sample input data, which will affect testing and examples.

Deprecated tasks from the list above include:

• Set up a conda environment, with conda compilers (Update directory structure #2)
• Update run script
• Create a conda-forge recipe (maybe only on Linux, or Linux and macOS)
• Add a launch button to the WBMsed Model Repository page
