Unintendend behavior: Save a Send will delete password #19517

@DataFlash22

Description

@DataFlash22

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Go to "Send"
  2. Click on a Send, which has a password configured, so the configuration of the send will open
  3. Just click on "Save", without touching/change any of the configuration

Expected Result

Nothing will happen, because I changed/touched nothing (from my perspective view of a user). Saving should never change an object when there is no explicity change request of a user.

Actual Result

The password of the send is removed. This is a really bad behavior, even for untechnical users, who were not aware of this. I don't want to know how often this has happened without the user even noticing.

After i clicked "Save" (notice, that the Label changed from "New Password" to "Password"):

Additional Context

only tested with "Text"-Sends in the Free Version

Instead of deleting the password, the password should be remain. Better, the password should remain visibility in the input field. And then, if i want to change it, i can change it there. If I want to delete it, I delete the existing password from the input field.
