Usage outsite Home Assistant / SureHA

Hi,

Does anyone else uses this library other then Home Assistant / SureHA?

I ask this as I started writing tests for SurePy and taking a look at the functions, I noticed that SureHA calls only a couple of functions. So SurePy could be greatly simplified, by removing unused functions.

Also I think the structure of SurePy could be improved by better separating the SurePet API calls and data the conversion to proper python data structures. This would make for more clean tests, as one set of tests could test if the API calls return the expected json schema and another set of tests validates that the conversion is properly done.

Any comments?

Thank you for asking! I'm not using the SurePy library yet (I'm scraping for now the surepetcare.io/timeline page with the Selenium python library), but I sure would love to in order to get more reliable feeding and drinking data to monitor my two cats, in particular for the diabetic one. Spikes in water consumption and disruptions in food consumption are sure signs of an ongoing crisis.
I could use the SureHA integration with notifications for monitoring but I already have reports I generate for my veterinarian with PowerQuery on the SQLite base I use to record the scraped data. I also generate an image (with a python script and a cron job) I display on an old jailbroken Kindle (see here) to keep tracks of food servings to avoid overfeeding, since our diabetic cat excels at mimicking starvation when my wife or I are passing by the feeder.
It would be easier for me to keep using python instead of using Home Assistant as a sort of middleware to expose the data. What I would need from SurePy are food refill, food consumption and water consumption quantities with timestamps from my two feeders and my Felaqua. I know it's a niche usage but since you asked I though I'd share my use case :) I would also love to help with testing with my three devices.
