Change style in mathfield to sans-serif

Is there any way to style the digits and texts in a MathField to a sans serif font, for instance using Katex_Math?

I've tried with the --text-font-family variable and different options (Katex_Math, sans-serif, system-ui, ...)
Alas, no luck

At this stage, I used a hack

1. Pull in the fonts through .css
2. Make fonts static
3. Refer to the Katex_SansSerif files for "Katex_Main" fonts
