The command is not saved to the configuration; restarting ESP will restore it to the previous configuration.

Both ESP32 and ESP8266 have the same problem.

That's not a "problem", but just how it works. It is not a persistent config property, but has to be set each boot, like using a rule triggering on System#init. If having a file system (like always on ESP32), you can also put the command in the file autoexec.bat
