Base Image from Alpine Linux

Optimize performance, speed and increase security by basing the image from the official Alpine Linux Docker image.

I had a similiar discussion on another issue regarding Docker OS's.

The issue with these lightweight OS's is that they often lack the necessary packages which are needed for most Drupal projects.

Do you have another experience you can share?

I'm working on a similar project right now... It's not that complicated. Also the Alpine Linux IRC community is awesome and eager to help whenever you need. I'm using Alpine Edge for latest packages and including the testing repository on line 5 for latest changes. Of course, this is not meant to be used in prod ...

The package support will not be a problem soon anymore... they're expanding quite fast.

With alpine I've managed to reduce the size of the image considerably from 195 MB to a whooping 26 MB
