Enabling the extension changes unrelated GNOME elements' appearance

Hello,

Under GNOME Shell 48.0 and VSCode Workspace 16, some unrelated GNOME elements change appearance.

I notice:

• top icons' backgrounds disappear
• expand buttons' backgrounds disappear
• top icons' (battery level, screencap, settings...) height becomes lower

Thank you for the issue, I have been swamped with my job, and do not have time to get to this. I appreciate the feedback and will put it on my priority list :)
