This part of the api is currently undocumented because there are still some pending design decisions. Currently you can increase the size limit for a SharedJsonBuffer like so:

new SharedJsonBuffer(obj, {
    size: 1024 * 1024 * 5; // 5MB
})

In a future version, SharedJsonBuffer will likely include an autogrow: true option.

I'll share my binary search try...catch workaround once it's cleaned up. I think the overall pattern could still be useful.
