MOS for video

Hello,

Is this MOS formula based on ITU G.107? If so, is it applicable for video WebRTC stream using RTP (unreliable transport). There is also ITU P.1024.x which targets only reliable transport.

Hello, Bogdan! Yes, the formula is inspired by ITU-T G.107, but it is not a full implementation of the E-model.
It only uses the final mapping from R-factor to MOS, while the R-factor itself is estimated heuristically from RTT, jitter, and packet loss.
The original G.107 model is designed for reliable transport (e.g., traditional telephony, VoIP with jitter buffering and packet concealment).
Therefore, it cannot be directly applied to RTP-based real-time streams over UDP.
