REPENTOGEN.exe shows 'not executable found'

My launcher shows REPENTOGEN.exe 'not executable found.' After I selected to update REPENTOGEN, it shows 'No valid REPENTOGEN installation found.'

There is also no exe file in my REPENTOGEN folder.

Your log seems to indicate that your installation of isaac is not compatible, though you do seem to have the right version

Close the launcher and try downloading and extracting the launcher files again, in case your "patch" folder files are missing or not fully intact:

And in Steam, make sure you have the Repentance+ DLC enabled still, and try "Verify Integrity of game files"

Afterwards, try to go through the initial setup process by clicking the "Choose exe" button

I am having the same exact issue and I have run through all of your suggestions as well.
I verified the game files on Steam - using the most recent update of the game, as intended.
Checked all DLC is enabled
Re-installed Repentogon - Also tried removing all existing files before doing a fresh install.
File structure is identical to OP.
Launching Vanilla Isaac is possible with the launcher, but launching Repentogon is not.
Running the setup or hitting "Choose exe", I get the following error and cannot proceed.

I also tried forcing the installation via "Advanced options", which did not help either.
This is what I am currently stuck with, even after a clean install of Repentogon.

Based on the launcher saying you have version 1.7.9b, you do not have the free Repentance+ DLC that is required to use newer versions of REPENTOGON.
