External contribution review process

Hi maintainers! 👋

I've been contributing to the project with test coverage PRs and some fixes/docs improvements. Currently there are several open PRs from external contributors (myself and others) waiting for review.

I'd like to understand:

1. Is there a review process for external contributions? I noticed most merges come from the core team directly.
2. Are there specific guidelines or requirements we should follow to make reviews easier?
3. Is there a preferred batch size for PRs? I have multiple test coverage PRs open and want to make sure I'm not overwhelming the review queue.
4. Should we coordinate via Discussions first before opening PRs?

Happy to adjust my workflow to whatever works best for the team. Thanks for building such a great project!
