Can we move the following to be children of “institutional creation”? I guess they should then be called “Creation of auditing institution”, “Creation of coordinating body…” etc.?
- Auditing institution: An auditing institution is an institution created to enforce compliances with established governmental rules and standards (CPDB, moved from section "Regulatory-Codes and standards" with slight language tweaks)
- Monitoring institution: A monitoring institution is an institution created to continuously and systematically collect of data to supervise specific activities for evaluation and enforcement purposes (CPDB, slightly tweaked) (AND – child “monitoring of emissions”)
- Coordinating body for climate strategy: A coordinating body for climate strategy is an institution created to regulate and monitor climate change responses and strategies (from CPDB, moved from Section "Climate Strategy" and slightly changed wording)
- Independent advisory body: A Independent advisory body is an institution created to provide evidence and analysis from which government actors can build strategies and plans (new addition, via Kate from CPR). Example: UK Climate Change Committee https://www.lse.ac.uk/granthaminstitute/news/why-the-uks-climate-change-committee-is-crucial-to-advancing-evidence-based-climate-policymaking/
- Participation scheme: A participation scheme is an institution created to promote the involvement of subnational entities or citizens in sustainability governance (adapted from CPR, own definition). Example: citizen climate assemblies, see https://www.knoca.eu/climate-assemblies
- Climate fund: A climate fund is an institution created to provide the establishment of specific funding agencies or mechanisms for climate issues. Example: independent domestic agencies for climate finance https://www.iea.org/policies/14055-government-investment-in-decarbonising-industry-fund-gidi.
- Strategic planning process: A strategic planning process is the institutionalization of processes to set strategic direction and roadmaps for specific sectors or for the economy as a whole (CPDB, changed slightly on advice of CPR).
