Patchers error out with Ionic.Zlib.ZlibException: Bad state (unknown compression method (0x0B))

Some patchers running with ancient versions (from 2021) are not playing well with newer versions on the topic of compressed records. When patchers using versions that old are mixed in a group with others it can lead to a Ionic.Zlib.ZlibException: Bad state (unknown compression method (0x0B)) error. Probably just those ancient versions have a long forgotten bug or two.

• Try running your patchers using the recommended settings, and only run Match when absolutely necessary
• If you can't upgrade them, put the ones that have ancient versions first in their groups
• If you experience this or notice a patcher still targeting very old versions, let us know! Would be good to upgrade those patchers still using such ancient versions to point to more recent versions

Hey Noggog, this post saved my bacon. I just spent about 10 hours over 2 days trying to figure out why I kept getting "Bad state (unknown compression method)" on NPC records that never had a problem before. I'm running version 30.2 of the Synthesis UI, but upgrading to version 35.0 made no difference. Using your directions for moving the old patchers (ones I have to set to "Match") to the start of my patchers list fixed it.
