GH Action lint step is failing #78

@KnutZuidema, it looks like the lint step in the GH Action is failing, and has been for a while.
From the .golangci.yml, it seems that this repo was previously using default values. Would you be ok with upgrading that file to use the current v2 default levels from here so that we can get the lint step running again?
