Chimera Lab Infrastructure: Discord Structure & Contributor Coordination

As Project Chimera continues to grow, we now have contributors working across different parts of the ecosystem (CSL-Core, Runtime, and Research).

To improve collaboration and make it easier for contributors to coordinate work, we will introduce a structured Discord organization for the Chimera Lab.

The goal is to gradually evolve Chimera from a solo project into a collaborative research and engineering lab.

This issue tracks the initial design of the Chimera Discord structure.

Objectives

• Create clear communication channels for development and research
• Help contributors find tasks more easily
• Provide a place to discuss research ideas and experiments
• Coordinate work across CSL-Core, Runtime, and Research

Proposed Discord Structure

LAB

Channels focused on vision, announcements, and onboarding.

  • #welcome
    Entry point for new members.

  • #chimera-manifesto
The philosophical and research foundation of the project.

  • #lab-announcements
    Important updates about Chimera.

DEVELOPMENT

Engineering work related to CSL-Core and Chimera Runtime.

  • #runtime-dev
    Development of Chimera Runtime.

  • #csl-core-dev
Development and design of the CSL language.

  • #integrations
Work related to agent frameworks and integrations.

  • #runtime-testing
Testing runtime behavior and identifying edge cases.

RESEARCH

Discussions around theoretical foundations and potential research work.

  • #research-discussion
    General research conversations.

  • #causal-ai
Topics related to causal reasoning and world models.

  • #ai-safety-theory
    AI governance and safety frameworks.

  • #paper-ideas
Early-stage research ideas and potential papers.

EXPERIMENTS

Practical exploration and experimentation.

  • #agent-experiments
    Testing agent architectures.

  • #benchmarks
    Benchmark experiments and evaluation.

  • #demos
    Demonstrations and experimental prototypes.

TASKS & COORDINATION

Helping contributors find work and track progress.

  • #roadmap
    High-level roadmap for Chimera.

  • #active-tasks
Ongoing work where contributors can help.

  • #good-first-issues
    Beginner-friendly tasks.

Next Steps

  1. Finalize the Discord structure
  2. Launch the contributor roadmap
  3. Define research tracks
  4. Assign initial contributor tasks

Contributors

Early contributors will play an important role in shaping the Chimera Lab structure.

If you have suggestions for improving the Discord structure or collaboration workflow, feel free to share them in this issue.
