Announcemnets

N+1 Fork (Glamsterdam)

• ACDT agreed that the spec for devnet-1 will change but waiting for another release before proceeding with devnet 1
• devnet-0 is pretty quiet
• devnet-0 is only Lighthouse, Prysm and Lodestar
• getting closer to merge for state cache and envelope input PR's. had rounds of review and need to finalize
• PR open for req/resp
• sync process is underway and has had some conceptual changes
• only client that can currently handle voluntary exits on devnet-0
• spec PR for PTC changes that will likely land for devnet-1
• refactor for network processor to add queue and process workflow to accommodate payload
• Rahul is looking at EIP-8061 and will implement and work with the Testing Group and Francesco to hammer out spec tests

FOCIL

• notified breakout that we need to wait for devnet-0 branch to get merged to unstable before we can rebase

Non-Fork Protocol Features

Fast Confirmation Rule

• some spec changes and found a bug that was updated in our implementation
• discussion surrounding safety threshold for consensus
• new website was launched https://fastconfirm.it/
• need to get lodestar on website
• branch is ready for review (NC and Cayman can review this week, or possibly next week)

Partial Messages & Cell-Level DAS

• threw away old impl and re-implemented
• working on full feature parity with lighthouse and prysm
• libp2p spec was merged
• consensus spec is under review and will be merged soon

SSZ Engine API

• have a tentative PR for engine API feat: add SSZ-first Engine API transport with JSON fallback #8993
• Nico and Bing are pushing this forward

Execution Proofs

• Bing i pushing this forward
• experimenting with new transport for engine API
• existing PR for zkEVM is feat: SSZ-REST Engine API transport #8994
• still in research phase and will look towards some implementation fixes to our existing PR

Other Features

BLST

• ran on feat3 group all week
  • issues with state transition time
  • issue with verification retries
• moved all the blst code into lodestar-z repo
• archived blst-z
• will merge existing MT PR in asap and do follow-up for the bug fix on feat3
• getting really close!!!
• Unlocks all the other TS performance updates (pubkey cache, no TS worker pool)

Flat-Files for Data-Columns

• no real updates this week
• ready for review by @lodekeeper. will let soak and do a metrics analysis when we are ready
• ready for redeploy on a feat group

Zig Roadmap

• wrote core fork-choice functionality pieces (proto-array, proto-node, vote-tracker)
• Review cycles on struct storage optimization in tree view
• Work to compare current epoch transition functions with TS implementation so that we can metric our work as we develop
• Going to start work on Gloas spec for state-transition-z
• Will merge some of the fuzz work into lodestar-z this week
• Stuff to get done before can merge state-transition-z
  • Need to add CLI flag for beacon state view in lodestar
  • Need to finalize/test the publish workflow
  • Need to freshen the zig side of the BeaconStateView interface to match the JS side
