pattern based exclude/include optially given through file on disk

Would it be possible to support pattern based inclusion or exclusion list given through file on disk? I am looking for some disk analysis tool that can parse patterns so i can analyse what is https://restic.readthedocs.io/en/stable/index.html backing up and what it is not.

Yes, that sounds like an interesting feature. I'd want this pattern to be powered by gix-glob. Probably this can be implemented so it can either exclude or include, depending on a flag.
That way, it's compatible to the / based search function that is already available.

If you'd rather want to support this with another search library, feel free to implement it anyway and I will see if it's worth bringing in another dependency.
