Translating Visual Novels from English → Japanese?

This might be one big nothingburger but heres my problem. My cough gog games / cpg repack cough Japanese VNs are all in English with no option to change it to Japanese. I tried using Textractor to convert the English text to Japanese but it just messes up the program. I tried using Locale Emulator to see if it would change the text automatically but it didn't work. Is there any thread you can refer me to that is facing the same problem?

It sounds like you downloaded an English-localized version and you're trying to translate the text back into Japanese—did I get that right?

The name of the game is "Gore Screaming Show" (downloaded via gog games) and yes, you are correct, I am translating it back to Japanese. I personally do not mind if the translation is not 1 to 1 with the actual game just as long as I get any kind of Japanese translation

Alright, referring to the screenshot you provided at the beginning, it seems you are likely using the wrong text hook, which is causing a flood of garbage text to hit the translation api. (also, the DeepL translation extension requires an API key to function; the free methods without a key may be unstable or no longer working)

I need a copy of the same English version to find the correct H-code. You can upload it to my server.
I’ve also placed a 'file' in that folder that you might find interesting.

Hello!! The file hasn't finished downloading but if it is what I think it is then THAAANK YOUU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! YOURE A LIFESAVER!!! The files I will be leaving here are Gore Screaming Show (gog games) and Maggot Baits (cpg repack) (erm hopefully they upload), I do not really need the Japanese version of Maggot Baits as of now but I will be leaving both games in case you are able to find the issue as to translating the English-localized versions of both websites because I also have trouble translating games from cpg repack. Hopefully this thread can serve as a reference and be of help for future users of the Textractor software which then again could just be my lack of technology literacy. Thank you for being helpful!

Note: To further emphasize my technology illetracy, gog game requires a system where it initially sends you a rar file to which it sets up and downloads the actual game. I sent the aftermath so I am not sure if the game will work. In case the game does not work, you can pivot the issue finding on the cpg repack games instead

The English version of Gore Screaming Show you provided doesn't require an extra H-code.

Please select the "System-NNN2" Hook from the top drop-down menu; it will provide clean game text.
If the System-NNN2 option still doesn't appear after refreshing the game text, you might be using an outdated texthook.dll. Please install the texthook update from here.

Also, it seems like your connection to my server is a bit unstable, and Maggot_Baits failed to upload completely. To save time, you can just upload a txt file containing external download links, and I will take a look at it later.

as for Maggot Baits (erm thanks for the JP version >///<) I updated it out with the new version System-NNN2 and it worked just fine. It was just a matter of reading comprehension on my end. Thank you for your swift responses!!!
